The Unfair and Unbalanced anchor had the tone of someone who was above it all:

President Biden’s dishonesty has implications for his administration and supporters, with White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre being highlighted for perpetuating the false information. Tapper demonstrated Jean-Pierre’s repeated denials of any plans to pardon Hunter Biden.

The political advantage for President Biden and his allies in spreading this misinformation is clear. In June, when Hunter Biden faced three felony gun charges, President Biden was in the midst of his re-election campaign against Donald Trump. Democrats and progressives seized on this opportunity to differentiate their candidate from the former president.

Jake Tapper’s criticism comes belatedly, given the perception of him and his network as aligned with the Democratic Party. Despite this, he now adopts a self-righteous stance that suggests a long-standing commitment to unbiased reporting, which critics find unconvincing.
