Kevin Costner doesn’t have much to say about the ending to Yellowstone — or his relationship with his former co-star Luke Grimes.
Costner announced his departure from Taylor Sheridan’s popular Western series before its final season. In a video from The Daily Mail, he mentioned that he was not focused on the show’s ending.
“I don’t think I’ve given it any thoughts, we’ll just let it go,” he added.
When asked about his communication with Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton and shared thoughts in a recent Esquire interview, Costner simply stated, “We’re done talking.”
Grimes had stirred some controversy by labeling the current season as the easiest to film, clarifying that he did not intend any blame towards anyone.
While Costner had fairly little to say about Yellowstone in The Daily Mail footage, Quentin Tarantino recently shared quite a few thoughts about the show, admitting to Joe Rogan that he enjoyed watching but found the series to be “just a soap opera.”
“They’ve introduced you to a bunch of characters, you actually kind of know all their backstories, you know everybody’s connection with everybody else, and then everything is just the compellingness of the soap opera,” he explained on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast while arguing that film is more memorable than TV.
Although the finale may have already aired, Yellowstone series stars Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly will reportedly be continuing their stories as Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton in a Yellowstone spinoff series.
