Vince Neil was born in Hollywood and first began playing with the band Rock Candy. He was discovered during one of their performances and later joined Mötley Crüe in the early 1980s. However, Neil developed drinking habits that led to his separation from Mötley Crüe ten years later.

They were detrimental to his performances, and the frontman would also miss rehearsals. Following that separation, Neil began releasing his own music as a solo artist. Still, Mötley Crüe was ready to take him back in 1997, and they’ve been rocking ever since. His eldest two children have also followed in his footsteps.

Vince Neil’s Marriages and Children

Vince Neil had his first child, Neil Jason Wharton, with an ex-lover named Tami. Born on October 3, 1978, Wharton grew up to be a frontman, like his dad. He leads the vocals for a band called Rock-n-Roll Junkies.

About three years into his son’s birth, Neil married for the first time to Beth Lynn in 1981. They welcomed Neil’s secondborn, Elizabeth Ashley Wharton, in 1983. The couple went strong for another two years before divorcing in 1985.

A part of the film that interested fans was an intimate scene between Vince Neil, played by Daniel Webber, and Tom Zutaut’s girlfriend.

Elizabeth Ashley went on to play bass for the pop band Loomis & the Lust. The band was formed in 2008, revealing that Neil’s first daughter plays alongside her husband. However, no details about him were divulged.

Neil married again in 1987 to Sharise Ruddell. In 1991, they welcomed the Mötley Crüe frontman’s thirdborn, Skylar Lynnae Neil, before separating in 1993. Skylar Lynnae sadly passed at the young age of four due to a cancerous tumor that developed around her abdomen.

Neil married once more to an actress and Playboy Playmate, Heidi Mark, in 2000. However, their union was short-lived, ending the following year. Neil moved on to Lia Gerardini and tied the knot in 2005. They stayed together for five years and went their separate ways in 2010.

While the ceremony was “emotional,” Neil’s best man, Randy Kubota, couldn’t make it to the wedding. Kubota had been hospitalized following a slip into a drainage area at Neil’s house party. Neil explained that he didn’t know what had happened.

Regardless, his manager, Burt Stein, stood in for Kubota. The marriage license stated that Gerardini was marrying for a second time and Neil for the fourth. The ceremony took place at the Las Vegas Four Seasons hotel.

Vince Neil’s Drama

In 2019, streaming giant Netflix released the film adaptation “The Dirt” of Neil Strauss’s biography of Mötley Crüe. A part of the film that interested fans was an intimate scene between Vince Neil, played by Daniel Webber, and Tom Zutaut’s girlfriend.

Tom Zutaut, played by Pete Davidson in “The Dirt,” is Mötley Crüe’s former executive. The scene in question was based on actual events, which Zutaut spoke about with Billboard. Zutaut explained that it happened during a 1983 US Festival, and he wasn’t aware of the infidelity until 20 years later.

Neil never commented or apologized to Zutaut, but the former executive wasn’t hellbent on Neil’s repentance. He stated that it was “on his shoulders now,” as it happened a “long, long time ago.” Meanwhile, Neil steered clear of Zutaut since the revelation.

An earlier controversy that Neil found himself dealing with was his feud with Axl Rose of the Guns N Roses metal rock band. The pair got into an altercation backstage following a GNR performance at the 1989 MTV Music Awards. Neil waited for them to finish and took a shot at GNR guitarist Izzy Stradlin.

Stradlin had reportedly previously hit Neil’s wife, and the Mötley Crüe frontman wanted to punish him. Rose was furious with Neil, going as far as threatening his life and shading him in the media. Eventually, Neil responded and challenged Rose to a public fight, but it never came to pass.
