According to People, Wanda Sykes can’t talk about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock because she gets emotional just thinking about it. While in Orlando, Florida, for a comedy tour stop, Sykes said much like her 2022 Oscars co-host Amy Schumer, she’s still feeling traumatized over the ordeal. During her show, Sykes admitted her initial shock over seeing Smith still sitting in his seat during the ceremony despite the fact that he had physically assaulted Rock. She said, “I couldn’t believe he was still sitting there, like an a**hole. Shouldn’t you be sitting there with a lawyer or LAPD, motherf*****?” If that weren’t enough, she also added, “I hope he gets his s*** together. Until then, f*** him.”
Smith is reportedly getting his “s*** together,” so to speak, as he has reportedly taken a trip to India, per Page Six, for what some sources are calling “spiritual purposes.” A trip to Sykes’ tour stop in Orlando would have perhaps been an easier one for Smith to take, as everything she had to say was well worth a listen.
