What ‘Aquaman 2’ Plot Spoilers Were Revealed at Johnny Depp Amber Heard’s Trial?

Entertainment consultant Kathryn Arnold took the stand in Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against Amber Heard. While claiming that Heard’s role in the “Aquaman” sequel was significantly reduced amidst the trial, Arnold revealed some spoilers in the highly-anticipated film.

Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against Amber Heard had the world tuning into their love story. Naturally, the actress’ career was somewhat affected by how the legal battle played out.

During a court hearing, entertainment consultant Kathryn Arnold took the stand and explained how Heard’s role in the upcoming “Aquaman” sequel was significantly cut down since the trial began.

Initially, DC President of Films, Walter Hamada, claimed that Heard was welcomed back to the set and was not faced with consequences despite the trial. However, Arnold suggested otherwise and dropped clues about what could appear in the film’s storyline.

She shared that Heard’s character, Mera, was hospitalized in the first act, which kept her from partaking in significant action segments. Arnold said:

“They had her in the hospital very shortly in the first part of the movie called Act One. They had her in the hospital, and they pretty much had her in the hospital, and then she was going to do this action sequence in the end.”

Her admission was due to either an injury or her pregnancy with Arthur Curry’s child. Although Heard appears to be in Act One of the script, she may have been taken out of the film’s other big scenes as she remains in the hospital.

HOW JASON MOMOA SAVED AMBER HEARD’S ROLE

Arnold also mentioned how Jason Momoa, the titular character, helped save Heard’s job alongside Director James Wan, who was “adamant” and committed” to the actress being in the film.

Momoa has not explicitly supported a side in the defamation trial despite being close to Heard.

Arnold also claimed Heard was supposed to have a “strong romantic arc the entire film and some great action sequence.” However, some of her scenes were cut as her role in “Aquaman 2” was “drastically reduced.”

WHAT RELATIONSHIP DO JASON MOMOA AND AMBER HEARD HAVE?

Heard and Momoa became co-stars, and on-screen love interests in the first “Aquaman” installment debuted in 2018. Behind the scenes, the pair get along well and have a fun and friendly relationship.

“On set, I like to read, and that just drives him nuts,” Heard said about her co-star’s want for attention. “He just adopted this method of ripping out the last pages of my book.”

Momoa has not explicitly supported a side in the defamation trial despite being close to Heard. In fact, he continues to follow both Heard and Depp on Instagram.

Depp’s defamation trial against Heard began this year after he sued his ex-wife for the 2018 op-ed she penned for the Washington Post. Heard painted herself as a victim of domestic violence in the op-ed, and although she did not mention Depp’s name, it was clear that she referred to him.

Throughout the trial, Heard accused Depp of physically and verbally abusing her on many occasions, which the actor vehemently denied. Heard also failed to show substantial evidence, such as photos of her injuries and medical records, to support her claim.
