When it came down to the decision to replace T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, DeMarco Morgan was more than capable of taking the daunting role. According to The U.S. Sun, the anchor earned his undergraduate degree at Jackson State University but didn’t stop there. Morgan moved to New York City to attend the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. After he obtained his degrees, he went on to join CBS2 News in Los Angeles in 2015.

It was evident that Morgan was a great journalist as co-workers had nothing but nice things to say about the 44-year-old when he made his departure for ABC in 2022. One coworker tweeted, “Best of luck in your next adventure @DeMarcoReports thanks for hanging out with this @CBSLA crew every morning! #cbsla #newsteam #amnewsers.” According to Us Weekly, Morgan joined ABC’s New York sector at “GMA” and “ABC News.”

Even though Morgan was a part of the ABC family for just a year before he was announced as Holmes’ replacement, he made quite an impression on the network. In March 2023, a source revealed to ET, “DeMarco dropped everything at the onset once the news broke about Amy and T.J. to head to New York City and take on anchoring duties, and that does not go unnoticed.” He’s clearly qualified to step in for the anchoring role, but more than just his work, he enjoys several other activities.
