The father of Tyra Banks’ son, York, is Erik Asla. According to his personal website, he is a professional photographer who was born in Norway. After moving to Los Angeles, he became a “protege of celebrated image-maker Herb Ritts” and has since opened up his own exhibitions. In his Instagram bio, he refers to himself as a “visual artist.” His resume includes shooting for Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, and German Vogue. As noted by Page Six, he and Banks first laid eyes on each other when Asla appeared as a guest on “Norway’s Next Top Model” in 2013. Later on, he appeared to work on Banks’ version of the show, “America’s Next Top Model,” as a photographer, per IMDb.
When announcing the news of being a mother on her Instagram page, Banks revealed what qualities her son shares with his parents. “The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here,” she wrote. “He’s got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin.
