Who Is Jon Alwyn? Taylor Swift Reportedly Supported Her Boyfriend’s New TV Show

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwin have been dating for some time, but they like to keep their relationship low-key. Here’s a look at the man who captivated the singer’s heart.

Taylor Swift is undoubtedly a talented singer and songwriter. However, she is also known as someone who writes about her previous relationships in what seems to be relatable songs for everyone.

Now 32, Swift is dating 31-year-old actor Joe Alwyn and is proud of his new Hulu show “Conversations With Friends.”

The series, based on Sally Roony’s novel, was promoted by the “Love Story” singer in an Instagram story. She wrote in the post, “Can confirm it’s phenomenal.”

While some fans may be convinced to watch the new show, many wonder who Swift’s new boyfriend is. Here’s a closer look.

WHO IS JON ALWYN?

Alwyn is a British actor who honed his talent in London’s theater scene. Although relatively new in Hollywood, he has appeared in some known films, including “Mary Queen of Scots,” “The Favorite,” and “Harriet.”

He once auditioned for the role of Sam in the movie “Love Actually,” which was eventually given to Thomas Brodie-Sangster. However, he does recall reading a few scenes with Richard Curtis and Hugh Grant. Alwyn is also a model who appeared in Vogue and a Prada campaign, even modeling alongside his girlfriend’s pal, Gigi Hadid.

Although he is dating one of the most famous singers of her time, Alwyn does not publicize his relationship with Swift so as not to overshadow his professional career.

Fans may not know, but he partook in Swift’s album, “Folklore” as a songwriter for two songs. Swit addressed the issue about a credited songwriter, William Bowery, who fans speculated to be Alwyn. She said:

“There’s been a lot of discussion about William Bowery and his identity because it’s not a real person. So, William Bowery is Joe, as we know.”

The couple began writing songs while in isolation together amidst the pandemic. Aside from their strong relationship, two great songs came out of their stay.

HOW DID JON ALWYN MEET TAYLOR SWIFT?

The couple likely met at the Met Gala in 2016, as her 2017 song “Dress” may have referred to their first meeting. In October of the same year, the pair attended the Kings of Leon concert, although it is unsure if they went together.

The following month, Swift attended the actor’s “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” movie screening, confirming their status as dating.

Swift and Alwyn became more public in 2017 as paparazzi spotted them out on dates, and as months passed, he became more vocal about her in passing. 

In 2021, the “You Belong With Me” songstress skipped the highly-anticipated Met Gala event to spend quality time with Alwyn in Ireland.

In February 2022, Alwyn talked about his relationship during a discussion for “Conversations with Friends.” He said:

“I think people can do what they want, and makes them happy. I’m obviously happy in a monogamous relationship.”

Although dating a music icon, Alwyn is a star in his own right and definitely someone to watch out for on television. 

His new show, “Conversations with Friends,” is streaming on Hulu with all episodes made available. Despite reviews being a mix of positive and negative comments, fans should see for themselves what happens.
