Julia Garner, who gained critical acclaim for her role in “Ozark” and played the part of the convicted con artist on Netflix’s “Inventing Anna,” has been married since 2019 to the musician Mark Foster.

Julia Garner has been offered the role of Madonna in an upcoming biopic about the music superstar. She emerged as the favorite among more than a dozen applicants, and her team is evaluating and expected to accept the offer.

The film, which Universal Pictures are producing, will chronicle the early years of the often-controversial artist and queen of endless reinvention. Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, won the script in a multi-studio bidding war, and Amy Pascal is involved as a producer.

The actress, who is taking over Netflix, one show at a time, came to the limelight for her performance as Ruth Langmore in “Ozark” before starring as the fake German heiress in “Inventing Anna.”

Garner delved into acting to help overcome her shyness and be more outgoing, and at 17, she got her first film role. The Emmy Award-winning actress has also starred in “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” “The Assistant,” “We Are What We Are,” “Dirty John,” and “The Americans.”

WHO IS JULIA GARNER’S HUSBAND?

Garner has been in the limelight, but she has kept her private life out of the spotlight. In 2019, she married Foster, the singer, and musician known as the front man for Foster the People’s indie-pop band.

Foster and Garner first met in 2013 at the Sundance Film Festival but did not start dating until years later. They bonded over where their families lived but did not exchange contact information.

However, Foster was not deterred as he found Garner on Instagram, where he liked all her pictures and later slid into her DMs. 18 months after they started dating, they got engaged and married on December 27, 2019.

In 2009, Foster co-founded his band with producer Zach “Reazon” Heiligman and drummer Mark Pontius. His bassist friend Cubbie Fink later joined the band and in 2010, their hit single “Pumped Up Kicks” went viral.

Foster has composed and recorded an original score for sketch comedian Andy Dick and has written smaller pieces of music both for and about Dick. He has also gone into production and has written commercial jingles.

Besides music, he loves to travel solo. On one of his trips, he helped construct a school in Nepal, and on an expedition to Uganda, Foster participated in the inauguration of a well.

Dobrev and Foster reportedly dated for about a month, but the actress and the singer never confirmed the relationship, and no one knows how long they dated or if they even dated.
