The third “Fantastic Beasts” film focuses on Professor Albus Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, as its protagonist. A dark wizard named Gellert Grindelwald, played by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, opposes Law’s character.

The film has sparked excitement among fans, especially with the arrival of Mikkelsen’s fascinating character. Mikkelsen, 56, recently took over the Grindelwald role after Johnny Depp exited the iconic franchise.

Warner Bros., the company behind the latest Fantastic Beast franchise, previously dropped Depp on the film following his controversial libel case against the tabloid newspaper The Sun. On replacing Depp, Mikkelsen noted it was “tricky” and said:

“There has to be a bridge between what Johnny did and what I’m going to do. And at the same time, I also have to make it my own.”

In playing Grindelwald, Mikkelsen appears far more popular with critics than Depp. According to Kirsten Acuna of the Insider, the Danish actor slipping into Depp’s role came very naturally.

WHO IS MADS MIKKELSEN’S WIFE?

Mikkelsen’s character in the exciting film is as fascinating as his personal life. Mikkelsen is married to an equally talented actress, Hanne Jacobsen.

The couple welcomed their children way before they tied the knot. Viola, 30, was born in 1992, and Carl, 25, was welcomed in 1997.

Jacobsen debuted her acting in an episode in the 1994 series “Alletiders jul.” Besides being an actress in Denmark, Mikkelsen’s 61-year-old wife is a brilliant dancer and choreographer

HOW LONG MADS MIKKELSEN AND HANNE JACOBSEN HAVE BEEN TOGETHER?

Jacobsen and her husband are among few celebrity couples who have stayed together for a long time. The Danish couple has been together for over 30 years and married for 22 years.

Reminiscing about the old times, Mikkelsen said he met his wife in the 1987 film “La Cage aux Folles,” where he dressed up as a woman. The lovestruck pair dated later that year.

The pair tied the knot in December 2000, after more than a decade of dating. Since exchanging wedding vows, the “Another Round” actor and Jacobsen have remained completely playful in their relationship.

In June 2020, the proud mom uploaded a lovely snap of herself smiling while holding an adorable dog beside Carl, dressed in a military uniform. The couple’s only son is part of a Danish army.
