Norm Macdonald was a pure comic who anchored SNL’s “Weekend Update” segments. After leaving SNL, he had a comedy series, “The Norm Show,” and a talk show, “Norm Macdonald Has a Show,” which aired on Netflix.

Before he died, the comedian shot one of his performances in his living room in one take. He wanted his fans to have one last laugh if he could not beat cancer.

For the one-hour special recorded in the summer of 2020, it was clear that Norm knew that he might not be around for long as he had battled cancer for nearly a decade. The special tagged “Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special” is now available on Netflix.

“Nothing Special” revealed that Norm, who was scheduled to undergo a procedure, “didn’t want to leave anything on the table in case things went south.”

HOW OLD IS NORM MACDONALD’S SON?

In 1988, Norm married his family therapist Connie, and they welcomed their only son Dylan in 1992. They divorced eleven years later, and Connie reportedly moved to Los Angeles with Dylan.

Norm always remained tight-lipped about his family, but in a 2016 profile piece, he called his ex-wife a “great” and “fine person.” Norm also never gave too much insight into his relationship with his son.

However, when Dylan was just three years old, Norm briefly mentioned him in an interview with Conan O’Brien when he said Dylan was a beautiful kid and “he’s the greatest.”

Like father, like son, Dylan inherited his father’s funny bone and his father’s love for privacy. His private life is tightly under wraps; he has a low social media presence but has starred in several online comedy sketches.

He also once founded a YouTube channel with his friends, and according to Norm, Dylan is a fan of the actor, writer, and comedian B.J. Novak.
