Simon Cowell infamously entered into a relationship with a married woman. He recently asked for her hand in marriage after 13 years and one son together.

The hit television competition “Britain’s Got Talent” recently resumed its live shows, which meant the hosts were back on the set, among them Simon Cowell.

The judge, known for his straightforward comments and sometimes harsh criticisms, was seen leaving the taping hand in hand with his fiancee, Lauren Silverman.

The couple was photographed seated in the back seat of a car, with Cowell holding a beer bottle. However, what struck fans was the massive engagement ring on Silverman’s hand.

HOW DID SIMON COWELL AND LAURA SILVERMAN MEET?

Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman met in 2004 while she was on vacation with her then-husband, Andrew Silverman, at Sandy Lane resort, Barbados. Andrew, a real estate professional, was a friend of Cowell’s.

The famous judge and Lauren immediately got along, but the romance did not start just yet. Cowell dated other women in the years that passed, including Mezhgan Hussainy and Terri Seymour, but ended up as a single man every time.

Eventually, he began dating Lauren despite her relationship status. In 2013, Lauren got pregnant with Cowell’s child and had no choice but to make their relationship public. Andrew filed for divorce shortly after and cited adultery as the reason for their separation.

As a result, Cowell had to stay away from Andrew and Lauren’s son, Adam, or pay a penalty of $50,000. Despite the challenges they faced in their relationship, Cowell and Lauren are now in a happier place. Cowell said of his girlfriend:

“The great thing about Lauren is she loves what I do, so she sits in if I am watching ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ for example, and she has got a good option. And I seem to have got my mojo back again.”

Lauren is the daughter of businessmen Steven Davies and Carole Davies. She followed in her parents’ footsteps as an entrepreneur and socialite after graduating from Tufts University in Medford.

On February 14, 2014, Lauren gave birth to her only son with Cowell, Eric, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. She also has another son whom she shares with her first husband.

Although Cowell’s fans may want to see a glimpse of her life with the television personality, Lauren does not engage on social media. She deleted her Instagram in 2013, shortly after news about her affair with Cowell surfaced in the media.
