Strictly Come Dancing has its 2023 winner: Ellie Leach and her pro dance partner Vito Coppola.
Ellie said ‘I genuinely cannot believe this’ as she won the trophy with a sobbing Vito.
It’s been a series marked by ups and downs. Downs such as two celebrity dancers quitting – Amanda Abbington following a backlash online and Nigel Harman following an injury – as well as the difficult battle faced by pro dancer Amy Dowden as she wades through chemotherapy in her cancer fight.

But the highs, like Layton Williams’ 40/40 dance with a rare 10 from Craig, and Angela Rippon’s return to the Blackpool ballroom where she used to host Come Dancing many years ago, have also stuck with fans new and old’
And now the public have spoken and Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola are this year’s winners.
Many said that Bobby and Layton both went for the ‘sympathy vote’ with their emotional final dances – but it didn’t work out.

And others were thrilled for Ellie and said it was the right decision.
