Why Did Shania Twain and Her Ex Husband Split Up?

Shania Twain is one of those who took to social media to empathize with Naomi Judd’s immediate family when she heard of her tragic demise — here are a few things to note about her. 

Naomi Judd’s demise has made many people send in words of encouragement and empathy to support those the Country Music icon left behind. 

Among those well-wishers was Shania Twain, who paid tribute to the late Naomi by sharing a heartfelt message she composed on her social media.

In it, she empathized with Ashley and Wynonna, claiming that she could understand exactly how they felt and affirming that losing a parent was a difficult thing. 

As she ended the tribute, Twain tagged Naomi and her daughters an inspiration, claiming that both Ashley and Wynonna have their mom’s inbuilt strength and declaring that they deserved to be inducted into Country Music’s Hall of Fame.

WHO IS SHANIA TWAIN’S EX-HUSBAND?

The first man Shania Twain got married to was producer Robert John Lange, and the union was supposed to last forever. 

Perhaps it would have if she had not met her PA, Marie-Anne Thiebaud. The two developed a friendship, and after they moved to the Swiss town of Corseaux, Twain and Her hubby hired Marie-Anne to look after their chateau.

Twain trusted Marie-Anne so much that it was the woman she turned to when there were issues in her marriage. They were both pregnant when she opened up about feeling like her husband was cheating, but her PA told her it was unlikely.

Then, in 2008, Lange served her divorce papers, signaling the end of their 14 years old marriage. It didn’t take long for Twain, and the rest of the world, to connect the dots — Lange was in an affair with Marie-Anne. 

He vehemently denied it, but Marie-Anne’s husband, Nestle executive Frédéric Thiébaud, allegedly had evidence, including phone bills and hotel receipts, when he broke the news to Twain.

HOW DID SHANIA TWAIN MEET HER HUSBAND?

After the divorce from Lange was finalized in 2010, Twain slid into depression, and it was during this time that she turned to Frédéric Thiébaud. She once said:

“There were days I didn’t really care if tomorrow came.” 

Thiébaud had also been jilted by his wife, and together, he and Shania were able to find meaning in their suffering together, then they fell in love with each other.

The pair now enjoy a great relationship and have been married since 2011. Twain enjoys spending time with her husband, who lives a more private life. As a result, he rarely appears on her social media pages.

One of the few times she shared a shot of him on her Instagram page was in March, and they had been on a fun outing that saw them watching a UFC match for the night. 

The latest post that has him in it was shared almost a day ago, May 15, 2022, and in her captions, she referred to him as her “best friend” — a testament to the strength of their love.
