The release happened a few months after a post on “Stranger Things” official Instagram page revealed that the fourth season would be released in two volumes.

Although the first volume launched on May 27, 2022, with seven episodes, fans will have to get back into a waiting mode for volume two.

However, the wait will not be long this time, as the second volume is set to be released on July 1, 2022.

Unlike the first, volume two will have only two episodes (eight and nine). The eighth episode, titled “Chapter Eight: Papa,” will run for only an hour and 25 minutes.

On the other hand, episode nine, titled “Chapter Nine: The PiggyBank,” will last for two hours and thirty minutes.

While the mastermind of the series, Matt and Ross Duffer, work towards releasing the second part, they have also revealed that the show will have a fifth season, which will be the last.

WHY IS “STRANGER THINGS” ENDING? WILL THERE BE ANY SPIN-OFFS?

On February 17, 2022, the Duffer brothers took to Instagram to reveal their reason for ending the series after the fifth season. In an open letter, they wrote:

“Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but – – as you’ll see for yourselves – – we are now hurtling toward our finale.”

On another occasion, Shawn Levy, the executive producer, and director of the show confirmed Matt and Ross’s words. According to Levy, the showrunners have a vision and plan, and they will want to “stick the landing” without overstaying their welcome.

Meanwhile, the series’ creators have offered some hints as to what the fans could expect beyond the final season. In Matt and Ross’s Instagram open letter, they teased about possible spin-offs. They wrote:

“There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things. New mysteries, new adventures, new, unexpected heroes.”

While a possible spin-off is yet to be confirmed, fans can only hope for more while they await the release of volume two and season five.

WHY WAS “STRANGER THINGS” SEASON 4 SPLIT INTO PARTS

Although fans of the show are not excited about waiting for five weeks before the premiere of volume two, they are well aware of the reason behind splitting the season into two.

In the February 17 Instagram post, the Duffer brothers explained that season four was released in two volumes due to its unprecedented length and the need to get it to the viewers as soon as possible.

Also, Matt and Ross told Variety that ‘Stranger Things‘ episode seven was as big as any season finale they have ever had, hence, the decision to split it there.

According to the duo, the “final act” was enough to make up the second volume. Hopefully, season four, volume two, will be worth the wait.
