A mother abandoned her son for what she thought was a better life. Years later, she tried to get money from his son, but the conversation did not go as planned.

For a bit of a backstory, the son is now 20, but his parents divorced when he was ten. The separation was rather messy as his father found out his seven and eight-year-old children were not his and that his wife had been cheating on him.

The ex-wife proudly left the husband because she had found a man that would give her the luxurious life she wanted. Her ex-husband was a farmer, working hard to maintain his father’s farm.

During the custody negotiation, she clarified that she did not want anything to do with her eldest son, and full custody was given to the father. A month after the divorce was finalized, she married her wealthy husband and took the two youngest kids with her.

Being estranged from his mother also cost the 20-year-old a relationship with his two younger siblings. He confessed he had not spoken to them since the divorce because his mother had turned them against him.

According to him, his siblings looked down on him because of his mother’s “classist and petty reasons.” However, the 20-year-old continued his life and helped his father run the farm after his grandfather died.

But one morning, as the eldest son was busy feeding cattle and listening to music, his father came out with an angry look, saying he had someone who wanted to see him.

The 20-year-old did not have to ask questions to know who would make his father that angry. He hopped off his tractor and saw his mother parked with a brand-new Porsche.

The new ride might have been impressive, but her new look was not. As her son described, she wore thick layers of makeup with a spray tan, many shades darker than her skin. “I often wonder if she’ll ever do a face reveal just so the world could see the hunk of Swiss cheese under all that.” the 20-year-old remarked.

Besides her shocking appearance, he was more intrigued to discover what had brought his mother out of her hiatus after all these years.

As the 20-year-old approached the car window, he politely greeted her, but she was not pleased to see her son, nor did she feel remorse for leaving him.

The mother did not come back to apologize; she just wanted something from her son. But before getting into the reason for her visit, she commented on her son’s clothing. “Don’t you have anything better to wear besides those filthy rags…” she said, then added how embarrassed she was to have him as a son.

The 20-year-old explained that those were just his work clothes. “She looks me up and down with a disgusted look again before taking a deep breath before speaking,” he recalled.

Eventually, his mother revealed she needed an important favor from her son. “See, your sister is going to be graduating this year, and I think it would be only fair if you gave her the money your grandfather left you since you obviously don’t need it,” she said.

The son explained that before his grandfather died, he had allocated $25,000 to each grandchild with the condition that they graduate high school. But after his mother left, he revoked his offer and put it all into his inheritance.

His father also added to the money, leaving him with a $93,000 inheritance. The 20-year-old said he spent $27,000 of it to buy a tractor and put the rest into his savings, which he added to with each paycheck.

It became clear that his mother was only back because she wanted a share of that money. In the middle of their argument, he decided to pull a trick on her and make her believe she was right. He pretended to get her a cheque but gathered pennies and gave them to her with a smile.

The stunt made her furious, but her son said that was the little help he could add to his sister’s college career. “you will give your sister what she deserves,” she expressed. But the 20-year-old’s father came out and told her to leave. She shouted out several insults and drove off angrily.
