Willie Nelson’s $2.5M Tennessee Home He Built Himself Raised His Kids There with 1st Wife Revealed

Many recognize country musician Willie Nelson for his award-winning vocals and whose commercial and critical success of “Red Headed Stranger” and “Stardust” made him one of the most distinguished artists in country music.

The singer recently put his Tennessee house, which he built himself, on the market. The home is located 30 minutes from downtown Nashville, features ridgetop serene views, and is surrounded by nature, pastures, and hiking trails.

The cozy log cabin home boasts a beautiful living space with a fireplace, and two bedrooms, with a third loft-style bedroom overlooking the living area.

The property, which spans an impressive 155 acres, is dubbed “the dream landowners seek” and holds beautiful memories for the singer.

The adage narrates that in 1970, the cabin caught fire, and once Nelson learned his house was ablaze, he ran inside and rescued his guitar, Trigger.

How Did Willie Nelson Become a Dad and Raise a Daughter in His Rustic Home?

Nelson married his first wife, Martha Matthew, in 1952. He was crazy about becoming a dad and loved Martha so much that he wanted to start a family with her. They soon welcomed their beautiful daughter Lana, and Nelson was ecstatic.

He loved singing to her. In return, Lana loved it as she would always fall asleep in her father’s arms. Nelson and Martha welcomed two more children, Susie and Willy “Billy” Nelson.

Unfortunately, life at home was marred with violence. Nelson says he and Martha were incapable of forging a calm home and they fought constantly. Eventually, the marriage ran its course and the two divorced in 1962.

How Did Willie Nelson Become the Dad of Eight Children?

After his 1962 divorce from Martha, Nelson married his second wife Shirley Collie, but the pair divorced in 1971 before they had any children. He then married his third wife, Connie Koepke, and had two children, Paula Carlene (born while Nelson was still married to Collie) and Amy Lee Nelson.

Sadly, that marriage also ended in 1988, and he went on to marry for the fourth time. He and his wife, Annie D’Angelo, had two sons, Lukas Autry and Jacob Micah.

In 2012, Nelson discovered he had a lost child, Renee Nelson. Her mother is reported to be Mary Haney, who he had lost touch with years back but reconnected in 2012.

It turns out, through his daughter Renee, Nelson is a great-grandfather, as she has a daughter who has a daughter. Nelson was excited when he met his daughter and told Express, as Hollywood life reports:

“My newly discovered family sure took some time to surface.”

All his children are now grown, with some following in his musical footsteps. Lana has appeared in her father’s film “Red Headed Stranger,” while Paula has recorded five albums as a solo artist and has also done several duets with her father.

Amy Lee also pursued a career in music and is part of the group “Folk Uke.” Lukas is also a singer known for his band “Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real,” which has released eight albums. Micah is also a singer and is in the band “Particle Kid.”

Nelson is proud of his large family and couldn’t be happier with the people they’ve become. And his children feel the same way about him and care immensely for him.

On Father’s day 2022, they posted a cute photo of Nelson with Amy, Lana, and Micah celebrating their dad on the special day. “Hope all you dads had a Happy Father’s Day yesterday!” the caption on the post read.
