Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, died on July 2, 2023, from a suspected drug overdose, and someone was arrested in connection to the 19-year-old’s death.

A 20-year-old woman named Sofia Haley Marks was arrested on Thursday during an undercover sting operation conducted by the NYPD. She is speculated to be the drug dealer named “Percocet Princess” who sold the 19-year-old drugs before he died.

The police are reportedly processing Haley, but there is no knowledge of what charges she will be facing. Rodriguez is the son of Drena De Niro, De Niro’s eldest daughter, with his ex-wife Diahnne Abbott.

Rodriguez was found lifeless in his New York apartment. His body was discovered by one of his friends who had been trying to get hold of him for days.

Initial reports stated that the drugs were found next to him but no indication of trauma. The apartment’s concierge said Rodriguez had lived in the building for less than a year.

The concierge said the young man was friendly and always greeted. He was touched to have heard about the death of someone so young. The concierge said he did not know about it until he read about it. The passing found was specifically painful because he thought of his own 20-year-old daughter.

At the time of the death, residents of the apartment did not know the ambulance parked outside their building was picking up a dead body.
