Zara Larsson’s Boyfriend Is Dancer Lamin Holmén: Inside Their Romance and the Singer’s Previous Flings

Zara Larsson’s boyfriend, Lamin Holmén, is only the second public partner of the pop singer, who has previously been coupled with a socially-conscious model.

Zara Larsson has been dating since she was 14, some of which is in the public domain with her international breakout during her late teens. The hitmaker’s relationships influence her songwriting.

She admitted to struggling with happy music around the time of her first public relationship’s breakdown and had trouble with breakup songs in a blooming romance in mid-2023.

Besides being signed with Sony Music at some point in their careers, Larsson and Mariah Carey have something else in common ― they have both romanced dancers. It is Bryan Tanaka for Carey, and the Swedish star has fellow Swede, Holmén.

New York City was a “starting point” in dance for Holmén, where he trained at the Broadway Dance Center for six months. In a video for the e-commerce fashion site NLY MAN in 2019, the dancer, who is of Swedish and Gambian heritage, said:

“When I dance, it takes the feeling I have inside and just puts it out into the world. And hopefully, people can pick up on that.”

A day after his New Year’s Day birthday in 2022, Larsson posted a carousel of their time together, including a video of them in the bath and at an intimate gathering. The singer wrote, “Sometimes I just look at you and CRY real tears because I love you so much.”

She predicted that they would not need to open their mouths in ten years, as they could “just look at each other and have full-on conversations.” She told The Sun in June 2023 that her two-year romance with Larsson is making it hard to write breakup songs:

“I’m so happy, and I am so in love, and I just love my life, and everything is perfect! That is how I feel!”

In November 2015, a teenage Larsson posted a thirsty tweet with photos of an unnamed model in which she asked who he was and how he likes his “eggs cooked in the morning.”

The “Ruin My Life” singer confirmed the breakup.

Barely a year and a half later, a fan posted a screen grab of that tweet and more recent posts of the hitmaker with the now-identified Brian H. Whittaker. “Zara Larsson won the game, y’all,” they wrote, to which she responded, “Thanks Twitter.”

In June 2019, Larsson celebrated her two-year relationship with “special bean” Whittaker. The green-eyed, six-foot-two model has modeled since he was 16 and worked with Bvlgari, Jean Paul Gaultier, Calvin Klein, and Versace.

Whittaker does not limit posts on his social media platforms to thirst traps. He raises awareness of mental health issues having battle periods of insecurity and is a body positivity advocate. He likes scrambled eggs.

Larsson’s sartorial choice of a dress with a realistic heart impaled by an arrow when she rocked up at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards alone tipped off fans that the beautiful pair was no more.

The “Ruin My Life” singer confirmed the breakup to PEOPLE a few days later. The exes had unfollowed each other on social media. Larsson postponed her second album, having previously said that it is hard to write about being happy.
