Zooey Jeong Grows up Following Her Father’s Footsteps – Facts about Ken Jeong’s Daughter

Ken Jeong’s daughter, Zooey Jeong, inherited his sense of humor and may soon become a successful actress. She previously had on-screen appearances, and the crowd laughed at her comedic wit.

Zooey Jeong is half of Ken Jeong’s twin daughters. Born in 2007, Zooey and her sister, Alexa, wanted to be doctors growing up, just like their mother, Tran Ho. However, it seems life is choosing a different path for girls.

Ken has starred in the Hollywood comedies “The Hangover” and “Knocked Up,” and it seems that he has inspired his daughter to give the entertainment industry a shot.

According to the actor, he will support Zooey in whatever path she decides to take and will be happy where his daughter finds fulfillment.

Zooey Wants to Become an Actress When She Grows Up

Flashing lights and cameras are some of the things Zooey has grown familiar with over the years. At a young age, she appeared alongside her father in “Dr. Ken” and “Laura Marano: Boombox.”

Zooey also appeared as a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” where she gave an honest opinion about her father’s role in “Penguins of Madagascar.” Zooey hilariously said she did not laugh while watching the film but later retracted her claim.

Right when Zooey said it was a good movie, the comedian, as a joke, took a treat out of his pocket and fed his daughter while praising the young girl.

The father-daughter-duo also entertained the crowd with an acting face-off where they expressed different emotions, such as happiness and sadness, on cue.

Should Zooey choose an acting career, she will have a great mentor and role model through her father. She also gets to watch his on-screen performances in “Community.” However, Ken only allows his kids to see select episodes. According to Huff Post, Ken said:

“It’s really cool they like that kind of humor because I think ‘Community’ is a very, very specific type of comedy and if you’re nine years old, and you can appreciate elements of that, that’s a pretty cool kid, in my opinion.”

Zooey Has Her Father’s Silliness and Mother’s Grace

The actor once penned an open letter to his children. In it, he commended Zooey for her humor and silly personality inherited from him. He also praised the young girl for having her mother’s grace.

Zooey has both acting lessons, where she always comes prepared with memorized lines, and swimming lessons, which she truly enjoys. Beyond her extracurricular activities, Zooey is academically gifted with her priorities intact.

Although Zooey has a twin, they are nothing alike. Their parents have realized their differences and support and love their children just the way they are.

Zooey’s Sister Has Fewer Public Appearances

Zooey’s sister, Alexa, has different interests in life, including gymnastics. She also prefers living away from the spotlight and has had fewer public appearances than Zooey.

While her parents don’t share the same athleticism, they encourage and support their daughter’s passion. Ken said of his kids’ choices:

“I’ve never wanted them to follow in [my] footsteps. It’s not like I’m like, ‘You’ve gotta be a doctor and a comic,’ but [rather], find your own passion and your own love, and we encourage them to be unique in their own way.'”

Before pursuing a career in comedy, Ken Jeong was a doctor. His knowledge in the field made him understand the situation even more, when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after Zooey and Alexa were born.

At that time, Ken was about to star in “The Hangover,” a role he nearly let go of to spend more time with Tran. However, she assured him that things would turn out well and that he should continue filming. With only a 23% chance of survival, Tran beat the odds and responded to the treatments.

By the time “The Hangover” wrapped up, Tran no longer had breast cancer. It was undoubtedly an incredible moment for the Jeong family.
