Barcelona are continuing with their efforts to secure the signing of Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window and their cause was strengthened on Sunday night in their stunning 4-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The club hope that the Norwegian striker will be impressed by their project and seriously consider signing for them ahead of next season.
At full-time, Jan Aage Fjortoft, the ex-Norwegian international who is a spokesman for Haaland‘s family, enthusiastically congratulated Barcelona in a social media post.
“What a result for Barca! Xavi!!! And Auba [Aubameyang]!! Respect,” read his post.
The post was short but significant, as it was by a man who could have a significant influence on whether Haaland ends up a Barcelona player this summer.
There are also a number of other variables in this situation, namely the price tag and the Catalan club’s finances, but Barcelona are in the ascendancy and their future looks bright.
This could convince Haaland that the best move for his career is to join Barcelona.
