When Roger Maris was chasing Babe Ruth for the American League’s single-season home run record, he was suffering in front of everyone’s eyes. Aaron Judge got a little taste of what that pressure felt like over the last month. If he got to break this record, Judge knew he wasn’t only getting his name in the Yankees’s Hall of Fame but in the history books as well.

The American League’s single-season home run record has been in his possession for 61 years and Aaron Judge was the man who got to beat it. Another Yankee who is beloved by the fan base. Even though it took him a little longer than expected, Judge finally got to 62. Just two games before the end of the season, he did it in dramatic fashion.

Judge makes all rise at the start of the game

Aaron Judge is always the very first at bat during a game, especially now that he was chasing this record. There wasn’t a single game he would want to miss, No. 62 was right within his grasp. During his very first showdown with Kolby Allard, Judge crushed the ball and got everybody at Rangers‘ stadium all excited.

According to CBS Dallas, the 62nd home run ball will sell for around $2 million. Whoever gets it, it has the potential to chenge their life for good. All Aaron Judge cared about was making American League history and he finally did it. Against all odds, the ‘Judge’ has his name written in the history books forever.

Getting to 73 in order to match what Barry Bonds did was practically impossible, mainly because odds say no player can reach such a high batting average in a single month. No one has done it and nobody will, it’s just not going to happen. All Judge can aspire to right now is getting to maybe 64 homers but even that’s hard with only one game left in the season.
