The Green Bay Packers superstar QB Aaron Rodgers revealed that he has been playing the last few games with a broken thumb on his right hand, though he says it doesn’t keep him off the field. “It doesn’t make any difference with me playing. You saw the tape on my thumb. It doesn’t make any difference.”

He was injured in the London game against Giants

Rodgers’ injury occurred on Oct. 9, at the end of the Packers-Giants game played in London. While attempting a Hail Mary on the final play, his hand was hit by New York LB Oshane Ximines, causing him to fumble and fracture his thumb.

“I think I’ve had worse injuries that I’ve played with,” Rodgers said. “It’s definitely a challenge, but the days off helped. I feel better this week.”

He doesn’t blame the injury for the failures he’s had

Rodgers insisted the thumb injury had nothing to do with his misses. “There’s one out of every 100 that doesn’t go right,” he said. “My thumb hurt a lot more in the Dallas game, and I put the ball where I wanted it, so the injury is not to blame for the misses I’ve had.”

Unlike Dallas QB Dak Prescott, who had to undergo surgery to repair his fractured thumb earlier in the season, Rodgers said surgery was never considered and won’t be necessary unless something else happens.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he hopes the days off have helped the thumb heal, and said they cannot afford any more losses, as they still have a chance to make the postseason.
