Ever since Rodgers lost Davante Adams this offseason, when his favorite target left to the Las Vegas Raiders there had been speculation around Romeo Doubs or Samori Toure potentially filling the void. However, a t-shirt worn by Aaron Rodgers at Green Bay practice reveals this will not the case. In fact, it will be fith-year NFL veteran Allen Lazard who will be the Green Bay QB’s favorite receiver in 2022.
The proof? A non-pictured shirt that Aaron Rodgers wore at practice today. Accoding to Matt Schneidman, GB beat reporter for The Athletic, Rodgers wore a shirt will the following caption: “Rodgers/Lazard ’23 Make Green Bay Great Again”.
Apparently, Green Bay was not allowing still photography during the part of the practice where Aaron Rodgers was available, so there is no photographic evidence of the shirt. However, the quarterback rocking this shirt with the Ronald Reagan slogan (adopted by Donald Trump in 2016), makes it clear who will be reaping the fruits of their partnership in the 2022 NFL season.
Allen Lazard availability for Week 1 is in doubt
Despite Rodgers’ clear message about who will be his favorite receiving target this season, it is not certain that Allen Lazard will be available on week 1.
Lazard was the only player not practicing out of the entire Green Bay roster on their Labor Day practice. Apparently the Packers are waiting till Wednesday to file their report and reveal what the extent of his injury is. Either way, Fantasy Football owners and Green Bay fans shouldn’t worry too much because Lazard still has till Sunday to prove he can suit up when the Packers visit the Minnesota Vikings (4:25 pm EST).
