The Chester Crown Court has heard yet another of Benjamin Mendy‘s accusers speak this Wednesday, with the Manchester City footballer accused of eight counts of rape, as well as facing accusations of sexual assault and attempted rape.
The jury has now heard of an alleged incident that saw Mendy grab a woman’s vagina without so much as uttering a word in his mansion and during a New Year’s Eve party.
“I was going to see what was in the kitchen and that’s when he grabbed my vagina,” the woman said, as per a report in the Daily Star. “My dress was loose, I had underwear on but I literally felt his fingers touching my vagina.
“I would say that it lasted a couple of seconds.
“Then he made a gesture like he was licking me… sticking his tongue out.”
Mendy’s threats
After the sexual assault, Mendy passed a comment on the girl, saying that she should be happy.
“Why are you angry?” Mendy is said to have asked. “You look better when you smile.”
The woman continued in her explanation of the harrowing events that unfolded that night.
“I kept drinking and kept my distance from him the whole time we were in the pool. But then he came up to my face and said ‘you look better when you smile’.
“I told him that I wasn’t going to smile and he asked me why I was angry. I said ‘you know exactly why I’m angry’. He asked ‘why?’ And I told him ‘because of the way you touched me’.”
Mendy is then said to have apologised to the young woman, claiming that he didn’t intend to make her feel uncomfortable.
“I know that what happened to me is nothing compared to what happened to the other girls,” the woman said, as per The Athletic.
?She then described the suspended footballer as “a predator who continues to act out and put other women at risk”.
