Former British champion Anthony Joshua is determined to regain the heavyweight world titles he lost to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in September last year.

And to achieve his goal he decided to reinvent himself in a way, so he dispensed with the services of Robert McCracken who was for a long time his trainer.
To fill the vacancy, Joshua decided to turn to the support and advice of the duo of American Robert Garcia and Angel Fernandez.
The European fighter’s priority is that they help him find a new strategy to defeat the reckless Usyk after he outclassed him in the ring.
In this regard, David Ghansa, Anthony Joshua’s camp director, spoke about the modifications his strategy will undergo.
“It actually married through Angel Fernandez and Robert Garcia, they clicked. Angel liked what Garcia had to offer, there’s experience, there’s similarities and since then, the two of them have been itching.
Now he’s here as part of Angel’s team. I think next week, when [Richard Riakporhe] is out, you’ll see Garcia in the corner with Angel,” he said during an interview granted to iFL TV.
Duo instead of a single trainer
Questioned, about which of the two advisors of the former champion will step in as his new coach, Ghansa clarified that that takes a back seat and if necessary Garcia and Fernandez will have to come to an agreement.
“I guess we don’t have titles, but they both respect each other and understand what they do and what they work for. I wouldn’t put either of them above the other, but they both understand their positions and where they play with each other. They will see that next week when they see Riakporhe’s corner,” he stressed.
