With the recent signing of Gareth Bale for Los Angeles FC and the contract extension of Carlos Vela, it looks like the LA side will be one of the strongest teams in MLS.
In addition to the two strikers, Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini is another of the European veterans already part of the LAFC squad.
The trio are at the core of a team which is impressing and building great excitement in Los Angeles.
In particular, the prospect of Vela and Bale connecting in attack is getting LAFC fans hyped for the new season.
How will LAFC play?
LAFC coach Steve Cherundolo has been able to play with two wingers and a striker, which has kept them at the top of the Western Conference table, as well as the overall MLS table.
For that reason, it is easy to think that Vela would stay on the right, as he has regularly been, or use the centre forward as a false No.9, while Bale could take the left flank, where he almost always creates danger with his left foot.
However, there is something to consider, and that is the good performances of Colombian Cristian ‘Chicho’ Arango, who has seven goals in all competitions.
The Colombian striker could be joining the Mexican and the Welshman to form one of the most dangerous attacks in MLS.
If they combine well, LAFC could achieve the coveted title that the franchise has wanted since they debuted in 2018.
Although there is also a possibility that there could be a front four, where Vela would be placed as a creative midfielder, near the midfield, with Uruguayan ace Brian Rodriguez in attack.
What is certain is that we will have to wait a few more weeks to see how Gareth Bale settles in with his new team and country, after eight years in Spain with Real Madrid.
