After signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool, Bayern Munich are willing to strengthen their defence with the potential signing of Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus.

The Old Lady won’t allow the Dutch centre-back to depart the club for less than 70 million euros, with his buyout clause being set at 120m euros.

Despite his high salary, European powerhouses such as Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all set sights on the Netherlands international.

An offer of 90m euros

According to information from La Gazzeta dello Sport, the Bavarians are said to be preparing an offer of up to 90 million euros for De Ligt.

Bayern Munich would offer a 75m euro fixed fee plus another 15m euros in variables, meeting the demands of the Serie A club.

Should they carry out this signing, the move would become the most expensive in the history of Bayern Munich, who are now favourites to secure his services ahead of next season.

His potential arrival in Munich would make him the Bundesliga reigning champions’ fourth signing after Mane, Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui.
