Five days before Real Madrid‘s return to action on Sunday 2 October against Osasuna, Karim Benzema and Lucas Vazquez are still not training with the group.

Both are still racing against the clock to recover from their muscular injuries, but the truth is that they are not yet in a position to train at the same pace as the rest of their teammates.

In any case, Carlo Ancelotti is optimistic that he will be able to count on the Frenchman and the Spaniard for the match against Osasuna.

There is more hope for the captain, who was injured on September 6, in Real Madrid‘s Champions League opener against Celtic in Glasgow.

Meanwhile, Lucas picked up an injury on September 11, during the LaLiga match against Mallorca.

From the outset, the club were very cautious about the recovery times for both players, but the forecast for Benzema was that he would return for the first LaLiga match after the international break.

The same match is now being considered as the date for the Lucas’ return, as back up to Carvajal, who returns to Valdebebas on Wednesday along with the majority of Real Madrid‘s international players.
