The judges saw the contest 119-109, 120-108, 120-108.

On the same card, David Morrell Jr. (7-0, 6 KOs) retained the super middleweight diadem by defeating Kalvin Henderson (15-2-1, 11 KOs) in four rounds. Morrell put Henderson in bad shape from the first round, but Henderson showed admirable resistance.

It was not until the fourth round that the referee decided to end the challenger’s ordeal.

In Cardiff, Wales, Joe “The Welsh Wizard” Cordina (15-0, 9 KOs) delivered a tremendous knockout to Japan’s Kenichi Ogawa (26-2-1, 18 KOs) to take the International Boxing Federation super featherweight title. The fight was over in the second round.

In Zacatecas, Mexico, Mexico’s Lourdes “Pequeña Lulu” Juarez retained her World Boxing Council Super Flyweight Championship for the third time by winning a unanimous decision over Argentina’s Debora Vanesa “Polvorita” Gomez.
