Concern is growing among Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans as we approach the start of the regular season and quarterback Tom Brady continues to miss training camp due to what has been officially described as “personal reasons” that have been reported as a prior arrangement to spend more time with his family.

Although it was initially understood that Brady would be back with the Buccaneers after Tampa Bay’s Week 2 preseason game against the Tennessee Titans, head coach Todd Bowles clarified that he does not have an exact date for the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s return at this time.

No date for Tom Brady’s return

“We’ll see (when will Brady return to practice),” Bowles said, according to ESPN. “We’ll talk about it next week. [I’m] not concerned about it right now. We’re trying to practice against Tennessee and play a game. I said ‘sometime after Tennessee.’ There’s no definitive date for me. But we’ll check on it, we’ll keep in touch and we’ll find out.”

The Buccaneers will face the Titans next Saturday, a game in which Brady is confirmed to be absent, however, he was expected to be back by the following week.

There has been much speculation, however, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to rule out a family emergency and mentioned that it was something discussed prior to the start of training camp between Brady and the Tampa Bay coaches so that the quarterback could find a balance between his family life and the end of his pro football career.

Bowles added that he is confident Brady will be fully available for the Bucs’ regular-season debut next Sunday, Sept. 11, when they visit the Dallas Cowboys.
