Actor Bruce Willis faces one of the biggest challenges of his life, if not the biggest, after being diagnosed with aphasia, which has not caused his mood to decline and he has shown it by spending time with friends while playing basketball.
The wife of the ‘Die Hard’ star, Emma Heming Willis, shared a video on social media showing Willis, 67, with three other men playing a game of basketball.
Willis is shown wearing a long-sleeved shirt, khaki pants, tennis shoes and a baseball cap, as he takes a hanging shot, dodging the rim of the hoop delicately while making a basket.
“I see you BeeDub,” Emma, 43, wrote alongside the video.
Willis’ family supports him in retirement
It was only in March that Bruce Willis’ family made it known that the Hollywood star would be stepping away from acting after he was diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects a person’s cognitive abilities.
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” they wrote.
“As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him,” the family also said.
Willis’ wife opens up on facing aphasia
However, Heming Willis has said she struggles to “make time for self-care every day” while caring for Bruce and their two young daughters, Evelyn and Mabel.
“That amount of care for everyone else within my household had taken a toll on my mental health and overall health, and it served no one in my family, someone told me not long ago that when you over-care for someone, you end up under-caring for yourself. That stopped me in my tracks and really resonated with me,” Heming Willis told The Bump.
