Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin had their second ‘face to face’ prior to the fight they will have on September 17 at the T-Mobile Arena.

During a press conference ahead of the trilogy of this fight, the Mexican demanded respect and pointed out that he doesn’t need to do extra shows for his fights to be seen.

“As always: I like to respect my opponents when they respect me. I don’t need to do this kind of thing to sell pay-per-views. I don’t. I’m always respectful, but this time it will be different and this is the person I am,” he indicated.

He expects a tough fight

Canelo knows that the fight in Las Vegas will not be easy, because in front of him he has one of the best in the world.

“He (Golovkin) is a dangerous fighter. He’s a very good fighter and there’s no doubt about that. But if you want something, like I want for this fight, you need to take a risk. And I know that, so I will be available to take the risk and achieve what I want,” he said.

The Mexican fighter assured that this last fight between the two will be the one that people will enjoy the most.

“I feel confident because he (Golvikin) knows I’m different. I’m stronger, more mature and I’m at my best. I don’t want this fight to go the distance. I think this will be the best fight of the two of us. The third fight will be the best,” he said in conference.

Maximum concentration

The tapatío boxer left aside the controversies to focus on continuing his preparation to arrive in the best way to the fight.

“After the press conferences, which will end, I’ll go to the gym, I’m going to prepare one hundred percent to give it all in the fight. I wish September 17 was today,” added Canelo.

Brave response from Golovkin

For his part, Gennady Golovkin assured that his third fight against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will be the best of all.

“This will probably be the best fight in the history of boxing. It’s my dream. I’ve said things in the past that I won’t deny I never said, but I don’t think it’s a personal rivalry, and in September we’re going to meet in the ring and settle it,” he expressed.

The Kazakh fighter reiterated that he will go for the victory, since his greatest wish is that there is no controversy in the result.

“I think any boxer always wants to win, and of course I have no doubt that I have the desire to beat such a special opponent as Canelo,” he concluded.
