Mexican boxerCanelo Alvarez didn’t let his defeat against Dmitry Bivol get in the way of a good party and was singing with fellow Mexican, actor Diego Boneta, hours after his unexpected loss.

Bivol, 31, won by a unanimous points decision in Las Vegas on Saturday night, extending his undefeated record to 20 fights.

The victory meant Bivol retained his WBA light-heavyweight belt. Alvarez, also 31, is the undisputed super-middleweight champion but stepped up a weight class to challenge the Russian.

After the fight, Alvarez enjoyed a night out with his wife and Boneta and his wife and the boxer’s partner shared a video of the occasion on Instagram.

In the video, the boxer and actor can be seen singing a duet of ‘La Media Vuelta’ by Luis Miguel. Alvarez also shared a few words, after having been beaten for just the second time in his career.

“In this life, if you don’t take risks and take on challenges, you don’t do anything,” said Alvarez.

“He who is afraid of losing is no one in life. Today it was a loss for me and as a man I have to be big enough to take it.

“I want to tell you this will make me much stronger and you have no idea what’s coming. Thank you for your support.”
