Recent cross-over matches between fans’ two favorite sports, boxing and MMA, have received a lot of positive fan reaction. Legendary Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez had a lot to say when asked lately about competing against UFC fighters.

Canelo Alvarez praised Kamaru Usman during an interview with FightHype.com, calling him a brilliant fighter and pointing out that anyone can lose in combat sports in light of Usman’s most recent defeat.

He was then questioned with what he had to say about Usman calling him out. “Not now,” Alvarez retorted, “Not now, I want to have great fights and make history in boxing. And then maybe when I am finished boxing, maybe I can do that kind of fights.”

Usman interestingly claimed in the “I Am Athlete” podcast: “”I beat Jake Paul. Nobody cares. You’re supposed to beat him. I still get a bank account now. I still get that. I beat Canelo, biggest athlete in the world, not even close, 100 million in the bank. If I’m gonna gamble, I’m gonna gamble well.”

The Mexican boxer wants to have great fights first, and then he might be willing to take on other challengers. Usman anticipates earning $100 million from his bout with Alvarez, but only time will tell when the two men square off.

Usman and Jake Paul have each challenged Alvarez to a fight. Despite this, the Mexican ignored the protests. Usman and Paul might get the chance to confront Alvarez in the future, though, given what he said.

What’s next for Canelo Alvarez?

Boxing fans saw one of the greatest upsets in the history of the sport when Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol overcame the Mexican heavyweight champion. The world was in amazement since Alvarez hadn’t lost since his 2013 match against Floyd Mayweather.

The 32-year-old is currently concentrating on his impending trilogy match against Gennady Golovkin. The first battle between the two, which occurred twice, ended in a draw. However, Alvarez triumphed the second match by outperforming GGG.

Both fights met and exceeded the expectations of the audience in a big way. Fans are now anticipating the third meeting between the two titans.

In addition, Alvarez and Bivol have concurred to rematch inside the squared circle. There is a good chance that Alvarez will fight Bivol once more after his bout with Golovkin.
