Time is running out, and the third fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin is just a week away from taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The war of words between the pair has been one of polar opposites, because where the Mexican has been outspoken of his dislike for his opponent, Golovkin has been reserved and diplomatic when asked questions about the bout.

The two previous fights were exciting, yet controversial affairs, with the first being declared a draw and the second seeing Canelo win by a unanimous decision.

Canelo wants to finish this with a knockout

Alvarez, a week before the fight, assured fans that he will do whatever it takes to win by knockout, and not depend on the judges’ scorecards, and he will attack Golovkin’s body with constant blows to achieve it.

“I’m going to hit him to the body a lot. That’s one of my best punches, to the body,” Canelo told FightHype.

“I’m going to work whatever it takes, head, body, but my goal is to finish this fight before round 12, so I’m going to do whatever it takes in the ring.”

Saturday’s bout will be Canelo‘s first time defending all four of his super middleweight championship belts after being crowned undisputed champion back in November 2001.

Golovkin, on the other hand, will fight for the first time in the 168-pound weight class, having fought his entire career at 160 pounds, where he was world champion.

Alvarez is coming off a painful loss to Russian Dmitry Bivol, the second in his professional career. and is looking to put that right in Vegas.

Meanwhile, Golovkin is coming off a knockout victory over Japan’s Ryoto Murata in April.
