Although the U.S. national soccer team defeated Morocco 3-0 and got off to a great start on the road to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Chelsea star Christian Pulisic was disappointed with the support he received from the fans at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

After the game, Pulisic was questioned about whether he was happy to be back home and while he did not deny the pleasure of being in his home country he spoke about the poor attendance for the game.

Christian Pulisic’s words

“It was nice (to be back),” Pulisic said. “But to be honest, for whatever reason I’m not super happy with the amount of Americans that are here, if I’m completely honest, thank you to the ones that did come and the support is always great from them, but yeah it’s nice to be back in America and playing again.”

In the 26th minute and after a long ball, Pulisic controlled in a great way, inside the area he got rid of two defenders and served to Brenden Aaronson, who alone inside the box opened the scoring.

The second goal was scored in the 32nd minute, when the ball reached the feet of Timothy Weah, who was confident and took a powerful shot outside the area, the ball made a strange movement and goalkeeper Bounou could do nothing to prevent the goal.

The game went to the break with a two-goal advantage for Gregg Berhalter‘s men, and although Morocco came dangerously close at the start of the second half, the home goalkeeper again prevented his goal from being breached.

Pulisic was the man of the match

In the 64th minute came the third goal for the U.S., on a penalty kick. Pulisic allowed Haji Wright to score his first goal for the home team and put the game away. Morocco had a chance to pull one back, but Selim Amallah‘s penalty kick hit the crossbar.

The few U.S. fans in the stands looked happy, for they have a complete team and they showed it tonight. A reliable goalkeeper, a well-done backline, and a strong offense that has them dreaming of Qatar 2022.

What’s next for the USMNT?

This was the first warm-up match for the United States, who will play another friendly against Uruguay on Sunday before taking part in the Nations League against Grenada and El Salvador.
