Colorado Mom Who Fled to UK After Killing 2 Kids in Staged Robbery Loses Bid Against Extradition

A mother facing extradition to Colorado for the alleged murder of her two children in 2023 lost her bid to stay in the United Kingdom after a judge’s ruling on Friday.

District Judge John Zani turned down Kimberlee Singler’s plea against extradition, leaving the decision in the hands of the home secretary on whether she will be sent back to the U.S. to stand trial for the murder charges.

Despite concerns over the conditions of imprisonment in Colorado and the potential for a life sentence, Judge Zani was not convinced that Singler’s rights would be compromised, as reported by the BBC.

Singler and her 11-year-old daughter were also injured in the attack which authorities now believe was carried out by Singler, who blamed her husband. Police issued an arrest warrant for Singler after concluding there was no evidence of a robbery or attack.

The BBC reported that Singler’s husband was eliminated as a suspect because he was driving a GPS-tracked truck, providing him with an alibi. Singler and her ex-husband were in a custody battle at the time of the slayings, according to Sky News.

The surviving daughter, who was moved to foster care days after the attack, allegedly identified Singler as the perpetrator.

In Colorado, Singler is charged with first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, three counts of child abuse, and one count of assault. It is unclear when the home secretary will rule on her extradition.
