Conor McGregor took to social media and dropped another hint that his MMA career may finally be over.

The 34-year-old, who recently nailed a role in Amazon Prime Studio’s reboot of Road House, seemed to suggest he was finally calling it quits on his time in the octagon.

“MMA, I’ll never forget you! Easy work,” McGregor posted on his Twitter account. Few took the announcement seriously though, as the Irishman has hinted at retirement on several occasions in the past.

Although McGregor has gone 1-4 in MMA and boxing since 2016, he later went back and clarified he wasn’t leaving the world of mixed martial arts.

“I’ll be back!” he later posted, referencing Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s famous line from ‘The Terminator’, and accompanied with photos of him in a cast following his TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. “For the sake of humankind! I must return!”

McGregor has been out of action since that fight, though there are rumours he may be returning to the cage later this year.

Finding an opponent may prove difficult however, as names like Michael Chandler, Nate Diaz and Charles Oliveira all have fights in the near future.
