The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Friday at AT&T Stadium in the final NFL preseason game thanks to the defense securing four interceptions.

Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock threw three of the four picks, the last one going against QB Jacob Eason.

Lock, 25, threw for 171 yards and a single touchdown to go with the three INTs, making Geno Smith a lock for the starting position in the season opener.

Smith, 31, started the game for Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, throwing for 43 yards on 3-for-6 completions.

He only played in the opening drive before Lock replaced him but Smith’s performance was enough to set up Seattle for a 53-yard field goal to open the score.

Drew Lock throws three INTs

Lock threw an interception on his first possession but managed to launch a touchdown pass on his next drive.

Cowboys settled for a field goal in the opening minutes of the second quarter before the Seahawks did the same.

The Cowboys defense intercepted Lock for a second time right before halftime and Dallas managed to make it a three-point game at the break.

After starting the third quarter with a rushing TD, the Seahawks gave up three more points while on defense and then Lock threw his third INT.

Cowboys quarterbacks

Since Dak Prescott obviously locked as QB1, the backup position could go to any of the other three options, with Will Grier flexing his potential Friday night.

Grier, 27, completed 12 of 22 passes for 88 yards and two touchdown passes.

Ben DiNucci took over in the fourth quarter and also displayed immense quality, throwing 65 yards and one TD on 5-for-9 completions.

Cooper Rush started the game and only completed two of his five pass attempts for 20 yards.

Cowboys defense

DiNucci, 25, gave the Cowboys the 27-26 lead with his TD pass but it was the defense who sealed the deal down the stretch.

The defense first recovered a fumble and after the offense failed to move the chains, once again made a crucial stop.

Eason threw an INT with less than a minute left to play, giving the Cowboys defense a fourth pick.

This game may signal things to come this upcoming NFL season for Dallas as its defense will likely bail out the offense in more than one game.
