It has been 11 months of waiting, but wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is back in the professional league. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Dallas Cowboys have signed the receiver for the final stretch of the season.

Hilton visited the Cowboys’ facilities on Monday and completed the transfer to the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are 10-3 on the year and are on a four-game winning streak.

Hilton is expected to provide experience and another weapon in the offense led by Dak Prescott.

New weapon for Cowboys’ offense

The receiver last appeared on the field for the Indianapolis Colts in 2021. After starting last season on the injured list, Hilton returned to the field in October 2021 and caught 23 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games played.

It was long months without a club as a free agent until he agreed to a deal with the Cowboys on Monday. The Dallas franchise was monitoring the market for a new receiver, and there was much speculation about the possibility of signing Odell Beckham Jr.

Without OBJ but with Hilton in the offense. The Cowboys’ option was to bring in a player who can step in right away to help the team through the last four weeks of the regular season.

Hilton joins a group of receivers consisting of CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Noah Brown, Jalen Tolbert and James Washington, and returner Kavontae Turpin.

Hilton is in the latter part of his career and it is hard to imagine him repeating his career best moments in Dallas. However, the team is confident that, with his experience and four Pro Bowl selections, he can have an immediate impact on the offense led by Dak Prescott.

In 10 NFL seasons, Hilton has 631 receptions for 9,691 yards receiving and 53 touchdowns.
