Cristiano Ronaldo did not deserve this ending

Portugal were eliminated from the 2022 World Cup after losing 1-0 to Morocco in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

Morocco goalkeeper Bono was brilliant between the posts and secured his fourth clean sheet in five World Cup games.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo came off the bench six minutes into the second half but couldn’t help his team in their search of an equalizer.

Ronaldo didn’t deserve this ending, as this might be his last World Cup.

Almost all cameras pointed their lenses towards the Portugal bench. There was Ronaldo, who didn’t start for the second game in a row, with the majority of photographers trying to capture his reaction.

Diogo Costa was at fault in Morocco‘s goal as he misinterpreted the ball’s trajectory, with Youssef En-Nesyri rising above his opponent to head home and break the deadlock before the interval.

Achraf Hakimi has earned a place in the best XI of the 2022 World Cup. The Paris Saint-Germain full-back is contributing both in attack and defence, being one of Morocco‘s stand-out players in the tournament.

The Moroccan fans were once again key to their team’s victory. They chanted, cheered and whistled at their opponents to help Morocco make history.
