After theDallas Cowboys‘ home win over the Philadelphia Eagles, a guy claiming to be a fan of the Pennsylvania team posted a hateful message on Instagram against Dallas QB Dak Prescott, in which he wished that Prescott’s brother, Tad, should die.

On the account eaglestake2, the following message was posted below a photo of Dak Prescott: “I’m glad you lost your mom and brother, I hope your other brother, Tad is next.” The message immediately received hundreds of criticisms for the hatred towards Dak.

Tad thanked for the support he received on IG

Dak and Tad’s mom died a few years ago victim of cancer, while his other brother died by suicide. After the support Tad received from not only Cowboys fans, but the entire NFL, Tad wrote on Twitter:

“Just want to say thanks to everyone who helped me with the IG post. Thank you all for the support, it’s sad but it’s something I’ve gotten used to. People get behind the keyboard and say things they would never say in person. Obviously it’s someone who needs love. Thanks again,” he wrote.

The Philadelphia fan posted a video apologizing

Today, Tuesday, the person who wrote that on IG posted a video apologizing for the comments he wrote, arguing that he got carried away with the anger he had after his team lost to Dallas.

“I come here to apologize to Dak Prescott’s family for my comments. Starting with Dak and also to his brother, Tad, about which I made a very insensitive comment. I apologize, man. I don’t wish you any ill will. And if anything bad were to happen to you, I would be the first to feel terrible about it.

“I also want to apologize to your mom. I know she’s not here to hear it, but I apologize for what I said. I was a very angry fan about that game, but I apologize to Dak Prescott’s whole family, even his dad. If you’re watching, you’ve raised a great man, a great family”

He did, however, leave a very clear message for Cowboys fans, “Hey Cowboys fans, are you really going to post my dad’s address? Shame on you, guys”
