Michael Gallup is expected to make his season debut against the Washington Commanders this Sunday. The receiver was not listed on the Dallas Cowboys‘ injury report on Friday, although his status for the game was not specified.

Gallup suffered a torn ACL late in the 2021 regular season. He underwent knee surgery during the off-season and has been working on his recovery since then.

He was already practicing without limitations last week and was listed as doubtful for the game, but did not take the field.

“We look forward to that,” Gallup said of his potential return to action this Sunday against Washington. “I’m hoping to have another big week (in practice). I felt good during the week, but there were some things I needed to tweak, feel a little bit more.”

“We have a lot of games ahead of us, and I’m trying to be out there all the time,” Gallup said in remarks picked up by Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com. “I saw that (Godwin’s injury against Dallas) and it was tough. It makes you think differently about your recovery.”

Gallup knows he is physically fit and ready to play. But now comes the tricky part: being mentally ready to return to action. And that’s something he didn’t feel last Monday before the game against the Washington Commanders.
