The Washington Commanders don’t only have to try and figure things out on the field but also off the field, as their owner Dan Snyder continues to make headlines and not exactly good ones.
A report released by ESPN claims that Snyder has been heard by senior team executives and confidants while he expresses that the NFL and its team owners “can’t f*ck with me”.
They explain he’s allegedly accumulated dirt on owners, coaches, executives and even his own employees through many sources in his over 23 years as the owner of the team, including what he’s obtained from private investigative firms.
Additionally since facing multiple accusations and investigations in the past months, Snyder seemingly is running out of powerful allies and he’s reportedly alluded to dirty work, stating that he won’t go down and loose his NFL franchise without a fight.
“The NFL is a mafia, all the owners hate each other”, Snyder allegedly told an associate according to ESPN’s report.
But they also cite a veteran owner, who expressed that the feeling wasn’t quite that, as they only hated him.
“That’s not true. All the owners hate Dan”, they cite.
Is Dan Snyder being forced out of the NFL?
The NFL league meetings will be celebrated next week in New York and even though theorically it’s possible for the other 31 owners to vote Dan Snyder out, that’s quite unlikely to happen in the short term.
Despite that the league could have more than enough reasons to take away the storied franchise from what appears to be a very toxic owner, that has investigation looming for allegations regarding a toxic club culture, sexual harassment, bungling a new stadium proposal that seemed inevitable and serious accounting misdeeds, people continue to wonder why he still hasn’t been ousted by the NFL.
Perhaps this report shines some light into the reason.
