The end of the summer transfer window is fast approaching, and Barcelona are struggling to find suitors for the players they want to sell.

These sales are essential in terms of lowering the wage bill, which is needed in order to sign and register the reinforcements that Xavi has asked for.

While some negotiations are making progress, others are stuck, with no solution in sight.

Aubameyang and Chelsea

The most important sale, and the one the club has been working on the longest, is that of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Barcelona have been in talks with Chelsea for weeks, and although there has been talk of an agreement for some time, the truth is nothing has been finalised. With just two days left in the window, the sale of the Gabonese player is of the highest priority as it would free up the most space in the wage bill.

Turning down Al-Nassr

Another player who could leave is Miralem Pjanic. Lyon have shown interest, along with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.

However, the president of the latter club took to social media to state that there have been no talks with Barcelona for the Bosnian midfielder.

Pjanic’s situation is surprising. At first, it seemed he was set to leave after returning from a loan spell at Besiktas, only for Xaxi to seemingly indicate he would be staying.

However even with Sergio Busquets suspended against Real Sociedad, Pjanic didn’t play, and it seems as though the Bosnian has taken that as a sign to look for a new club.

No offers for Depay

Another complex situation is that of Memphis Depay. The Dutchman was close to joining Juventus, only for the Turin club to sign Arkadiusz Milik instead.

Since then, no other club has made an approach. Although nothing can be ruled out at this point, with just two days remaining in the transfer window, it seems as though Depay is set to stay at the Camp Nou.

Dest and Braithwaite

Xavi has made it clear to Sergino Dest that he isn’t part of his plans, having left him out of the matchday squad so far.

Manchester United are interested, but Barcelona want 20 million euros for the right-back, a fee deemed to high by the Premier League side. Villarreal have also been mentioned as a possible landing spot following Juan Foyth‘s injury.

As for Martin Braithwaite, he is asking for five million euros as the two sides continue talks over terminating his contract.
