Devin Booker and the Suns hosted the New Orleans Pelicans as he managed to score 58 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists while the Suns were down by 24.
Sun’s coach, Monty Willams thought the winning basket was a difficult one to make, as Booker was dibbling to the left corner barely getting to the 3-point line while having a defending party by the Pelicans, and threw a great jumper.
Coach Williams said “I couldn’t make that shot,” while having a big smile on his face
Booker took the game in favor of the suns and single-handedly manage to make the comeback so the game could finish 118-114 in favor of the local team.
Devin Booker has been an All-Star team member three times and today was a career highlight as he scored 58 points.
Phoenix Suns redeem a losing streak against the Pelicans
The Suns lost to the Pelicans twice already and Booker was leaning towards passing the ball rather than shooting, however, he figured out he was packing heat in his hands.
“Once I get it going a little bit, shooting over a hand is the right play,” Booker said.
Today’s game is the second time this season that he’s scored over 50 points. The last time he did it was back on November 30th against the Chicago Bulls, however, that time he did it in 3 quarters.
Zion Williamson recognizes Brooks’ game
Zion Williamson was Booker’s counterweight as he took the Pelicans with 30 points and McCollum added 27. Williamson had a solid game, he managed to shoot 12 out of 15 from the long distance, however, all his efforts came short as he was outshined by Booker’s unstoppable game.
Zion Williamson tipped his hat “You got to give respect when it is due, He put on a clinic.”
