The talented owner of the Los Angeles Lakers Jeannie Buss is not an avid social media user, but when she does post, her messages become newsworthy, like what she “said” yesterday night.

Her tweet said “I miss KB, He would understand and explain everything that I’m not allowed to. Honestly, he was the greatest Laker ever. He understood team over self. Meaning your rewards would come if you valued team goals over your own then everything would fall into place. All can reply.”

Respect and admiration for #24

That alone shows the respect, admiration, and affection she has for Kobe’s legacy and persona.

Many would wonder why she tweeted that and who it was aimed at if that would be the case, there were some that even speculated if she was speaking about the trade of Kyrie Irving or Russel Westbrook.

Kyrie Irving rumoured to have hit impasse with Nets with Lakers set to pounceAP

The tweet comes at a time when the Lakers need a fresh bump to remain as a competitive team and go back to the championship status that they are known for.

Options with the Nets

Now that the Nets’ situation may be out of hand, maybe just maybe the Russell Westbrook trade could be an option for the Lakers to bring the controversial Kyrie Irving to Los Angeles.

Statistically, Irving is arguably a better player than Westbrook, but many things can change during the length of an NBA season.

In another interview right at the end of the season, she said that “I’m growing impatient just because we had the fourth-highest payroll in the league, when you spend that kind of money on the luxury tax, you expect to go deep into the playoffs. So, yeah, it was gut-wrenching for me to go out on a limb like that and not get the results that we were looking for. I’m not happy, I’m not satisfied.”
