Dmitry Bivol not only defended his title against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, he also gained confidence and the Russian’s ambition grew, as he wants to fulfill a dream and become undisputed champion at semi-complete weight.
This is what the undefeated champion of the World Boxing Association said in an interview with Fight Hype, in which he revealed what one of his plans would be.

“It’s my dream, to become undisputed champion. It is the best goal for me now and what I have been looking for since the beginning of my career,” Bivol said.
That’s why, Bivol has World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation champion Artur Beterbiev and World Boxing Organization’s Joe Smith Jr. in his sights.
Beterbiev and Smith will meet on June 18 in a unification fight, and the winner of that matchup could seek the undisputed title with Bivol.
How does Bivol feel about a rematch with Canelo Alvarez?
Of a possible rematch with Canelo Alvarez after his win on May 7, he said he would be willing to confirm that he is better than the Mexican fighter.
“The first fight was important for me because I wanted to introduce myself to the boxing fans. In the second fight I want to confirm that I am really better than him,” Bivol said.
Bivol is looking for more than a big financial reward
He accepted that by name Saul Alvarez is better, but he wants to prove that he can be better, without losing sight of the economic, because in a rematch he would have to win more.
“He has the biggest renown, but I am better and I could be better. Of course I could earn more money and more attention, but I would also get more respect.”
It will have to be seen if Canelo first seeks a third fight with Gennady Golovkin and then arrange a second fight against Bivol, probably in 2023.
