The Golden State Warriors are about to start their participation in the 2022 NBA Finals in search of a new title, but Draymond Green has had to open fire on social media against an old friend, Kevin Durant, who reacted unhappily to some words of his former teammate about Steph Curry.

How did the feud between Green and Durant start?

It’s all started after Green said Curry doesn’t have a Finals MVP in part because he saw many more double teams than Durant did during the Warriors’ 2017 and 2018 championship seasons.

“Kevin Durant was absolutely incredible in those Finals runs …. Steph Curry got double-teamed probably seven times the amount that KD did in a given series. So when you watch those games and you say, ‘Ah, [Curry’s] numbers could be a little down,’ he’s facing a double team,” Green told ‘The Colin Cowherd Podcast.’

KD responded to Green and everything just got bigger

What initially appeared to be an attempt by Green to highlight Curry’s importance when Durant was on the Warriors from 2016-2019 didn’t take long to reach the eyes of KD, who reacted by defining Green’s claims as false.

“From my view of it, this is 100% false…” Durant wrote on Twitter.

However, that was only the beginning of the argument between the two NBA stars. Green was quick to respond to Durant, assuring him that “you have to learn to listen to full takes and not snippets before you get baited into tweeting Champ.”

As expected, KD didn’t stay quiet and immediately told Green, “Oh I seen it my brethren, I appreciate the compliments but I disagree with what u said about double teams that’s all. I love the show.”

So far, there has been no new reaction from both All-Stars, but apparently Green was trying to highlight the contribution of Curry, who at the time has been criticized by journalists due to his performance in the NBA Finals and for not having a Finals MVP, although in the midst of it caused Durant discomfort.
